Following the success of our Women’s Confidence Group, Derby Theatre are pleased to announce that we are now also introducing a Men’s Confidence Group.
The Men’s Confidence Group is a great opportunity, for those interested in joining, to develop new skills, work in a team with others and get the chance to express themselves in ways which can improve self-esteem and confidence.
The introduction of this group is a project that is part of a bigger well-being and mental health programme, Blue Sky Derby, delivered in partnership with Derby Adult Learning service, and each session will be led by a theatre facilitator and supported by a mental health professional.
Derby Theatre is inviting up to 14 participants to take part in a series of five FREE workshops, which will take place for two hours on a Thursday evening over five weeks, with the first session starting on Thursday 12 May.
Each session will be a bespoke workshop which will focus on developing leadership skills and confidence. Participants will work with the theatre professional and participate by applying a range of theatre techniques during the workshops. As a member of the group, participants will also have the opportunity to see some productions at the Theatre.
Over the five weeks, the sessions will also cover: how does it mean to work as part of a team?; practical exercises to help develop sharing experience and skills; leadership skills training; how to create an open, non-judgemental space; group work and confidence building work focusing on a variety of situations adapted to the group’s needs.
The Men’s Confidence Group sessions will run at Derby Theatre on Thursday evenings from 6pm until 8pm over five consecutive weeks from Thursday 12 May until Thursday 9 June. Even though the first session has already happened, new members are still welcome to join. If you are interested in joining the group please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
